Dorothée Zombronner’s works pose questions on what constitutes normative beauty and criticize the mechanisms through which we are led to habitually perceive our visual culture. Normally working with water-colors, collage and photography, she tackled lack of time and the need for childcare during corona by introducing new materials, such as salt-dough, to her practice. Playfulness, spontaneity and complete freedom combined with a sense of the ‘craft’ were deployed to express ideas of the juggling between different family responsibilities and art work.
